Hampton grants that fund innovative research for up to $80,000, and Humanities
and Social Sciences (HSS) grants whose values ranged from between $1,000

Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Large and Small Grants
To support scholarly research or creative activity contributing
to a discipline or field of study in HSS and the Creative and Performing
Arts. Faculty can only apply once every other year
HSS Large $3,000 to $7,000
HSS Small $1,000 to $3,000
1 year may be extended for an additional one year if required
Large Grants: due in OGPR Feb 8 @ noon for review, feedback &
Associate Dean's signature. Due in Faculty of Arts (Linda Leathley)

HSS/UBC Conference Travel Grants
These travel grants are awarded for travel to present scholarly
papers at meetings of international learned organizations outside
Canada and the USA
Applications can be submitted prior to receiving letters of acceptance.
When applicants receive the letters of acceptance, they must notify

$1000 maximum for travel to Europe; $1500 maximum for travel to
Asia, South America, Africa or Australia
