The use and administration of research awards must follow specific rules and guidelines set by the Faculty, the University, and funding sponsors such as Tri-Council agencies (SSHRC, CIHR and NSERC). The goal of the Research Infrastructure Support Services Program (RISS) is to provide Education faculty members with the infrastructure support they need to assume scholarly leadership roles and to pursue excellent research. The RISS program complements regular research grants and seed funding by supporting leadership activities and research infrastructure that are ineligible for support from those other sources. RISS assistance complements department-based support and applicants are expected to request department support as part of the application process.
