Research Funding for Faculty
Faculty research funding can be obtained from various sources, including Canada's three main federal funding agencies (the Tri-Agencies): Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC); Natural Sciences and Engineering Council of Canada (NSERC); and the Canadian National Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Research funding can also be obtained at the University-level within UBC and at the Faculty-level within the Faculty of Education. In addition to the Tri-Agencies, there are other external sources of research funding that faculty can tap into; these include ministries and not-for-profit philanthropic organizations such as foundations.
