Fall 2008 Faculty of Education HSS Research Deveopment Grant Funding for the Faculty of Education HSS Research Development Grant is made available through the annual SSHRC Institutional Grant, which is specifically designed to promote research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The main goal of the Faculty of Education HSS Research Development Grant, offered in the Fall 2008, is to support junior faculty to conduct or complete research so as to enhance their research track records in ways that position them better in applications for external, Tri-Council funding. This grant initiative is particularly well suited to the needs of new scholars who have yet to receive large, external funding awards, and/or who may wish to pursue small projects in order to build their research track records. Thus, applications from early career scholars are particularly encouraged and will be given preference in the adjudication process. However, the grant is also open to more senior scholars if they bring junior scholars into the leadership role within a collanborative project. In these cases, however, the primary applicant for funding must be a junior faculty member. Note that the Faculty of Education HSS Research Development Grant is also designed to support research training opportunities for graduate students. Applications that make a provision for such training will be given higher priority. --------------------------------------------------------------- For the Terms of Reference, please click here.
