Employment at UBC : Types & Sources In addition to accessing merit- and need-based funding, students may, and often do, support their education through employment. Individual academic units and Faculty members may provide opportunities for graduate students to work as Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs), Graduate Academic Assistants (GAAs) and Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs). Please check with your Department's Administrator for these opportunities. UBC's Career Services office maintains a Work Opportunities web site that can assist you to find work on and off campus. Their Careers Online job-posting system allows you to survey thousands of local, national and international employers electronically. Career Services also administers a Work Study Program. In addition to this, Canadian students should look at the Canada Summer Job Program and Work Learn Summer Program for our international students.
